Breast Cancer is the most common type of cancer and accounts for almost one in three of all cancers in women. It can also affect men as well although this is very rare.
Wendy Wooden has had breast cancer three times over the last 10 years or so. She told me about her expereince and the free support group for those affected by Breast Cancer, which meets monthly in the grounds of St Peters Hospital in Chertsey.

Surrey Air Ambulance has been providing a life saving service for the community since 1997. It costs £1.7m pounds a year to keep the ambulance in the air and one of the charities major fund raising means is its own lotterY. This raised £225 last year. Julie Jenkison from Surrey Air Ambulance told me more about the lottery and the work of the air ambulance.

The Plunkett Foundation is a charity based in rual Oxfordshire. For the last 90 years they have supported local communites around the UK to take control of their village shops, pubs and community facilities. There are 255 community owned shops in the UK. A number of these are in Surrey
