BRUNCH TIME BREAKFAST MONDAY 1ST JUNE 2015

Across the UK millions of people are giving their time from no financial payment. The benefits of volunteering are well documented.
Maybe its giving a retired person something to fill their time in those post work years, or adding skills to the CV of a teenager looking to get on the career ladder. Then we have the people and organisations who benefit from volunteers. From the friendly smile welcoming a patient as they enter a hospital to the companionship and support for an vulnerable person who might feel isolated from their community. The army of volunteers working in the UK really brings out the best in human nature. People helping people.
Volunteering matters is the UK's largest charity for volunteers and you can look at their website to find out more about volunteering and opportunities within your local area. www.volunteeringmatters.org.uk
I spoke to Alan Marchbank who works on the charity's RSVP project based in Brighton.
