I was joined this morning by Niki Mason, a family suport worker for Momentum childrens charity. Niki talks about her role, based at St Peters hospital.
We also hear all about the work Momentum does with seriously ill children and their families across our local hospitals. Just simple things such as improving the environment in the wards can make such a difference. Niki talks about how Momentum supprts these familes at such a destressing time in their lives.
Momentum has recently been slected as charity of the year by Sainsburys in Chertsey.

Today on the show I wanted to highlight the work of the Foodbank in Woking, and also the Light House where the food bank is based.
It was amazing to see just what goes on in this building and the help and support that is there for people in teir hour of need. It's not just about food its about dignity and being there at what could be the lowest point in somebody's life.
In the first part i speak to Alison who is the manager, as well as some of the volunteers who help run things so smoothly.

The second part of my visit to the Light House in Woking. I spoke to more of the team who run things at the food bank and the Light House. I was also able to talk to Michael who is a user of the food bank after falling on hard times. His story is a tale of bravery and courage and shows there is light at the end of the tunnel when you are facing your darkest hour.

Ellie Wilks is the general manager of Woking Mind, a localy based mental health chairty about to celebrate its 40th anniversary.
The charity is facing a worrying time following funding cuts, leaving them in limbo and at the start of a fund raising drive to keep the doors open and tell this town all about Woking Mind. Ellie talks to me about the finacial isssues and tells me about the work the chairty does in the Woking area.
