London Grenfell Disaster

Friday Jun 16, 2017
RADIO WEY FRIDAY 16TH JUNE 2017
There are no words to describe the horror of what happened in West London. So many horrible stories emerging from this, each one is a personal tragedy. With the death toll expected to rise we feel helpless for those affected by this. The community in West London, and indeed the rest of the country are uniting to support the people of Grenfell Tower as the survivors struggle and come to terms with re building their lives.
There has been remarkable scenes of the public donating what they can to help these people. Suzzie Bambro from Horsell organised a collection at a school in Horsell. She spent much of the morning running around trying to find somehere to take the two car loads of donated goods. Suzzie explains why she did this, and gave her thoughts on what happened at Grenfell.

The British Nutritian Foundation, as part of their annual healthy eating week, conducted research into young people's knowlege of food. It was a shock to discover some kids today think fish fingers are made out of chicken. Even more shocking was the fact that some even think Fruit Pastels count towards our five a day!
Why have we found ourselves in the situation where children dont understand the origin of their food and what can we do about it? I spoke to Dr Lucy Chambers from the BNF
