Cats and birds’ long-standing rival is affecting the songbird population. National charities Cats Protection and SongBird Survival are letting cat owners know the best ways to limit their cat’s hunting. Tips include playing with your cat for 5-10 minutes every day as it allows them to exhibit their natural hunting behaviour and reduces their motivation to seek out prey.
To find out more I spoke to Nicky Trevorrow, Behaviour Manager at Cats Protection and Susan Morgan, CEO of Song Bird Survival.
