Silver Friends - Buddy Bus for the Community

Hamish Macdonald from Sliver Freinds joined me to discuss the new Buddy Bus inciative. The bus  which the charity is custodian of. We hear how gthe bus was donated by Woking Community Transport and Silver Frfeinds are responsible for its day to day running.
The aim is to encourage community integration and help to reduce isolation.

Annie Segal from Bookham joined us at Surrey Hills Community Radio. She wants to raise awareness of  her  rare condition called Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome  - a  condition that she  got diagnosed when she was 3 years old. Annie spoke to Luke and I and  told us about living with RTS and how it impacts her life. 

Epsom Derby - The Christmas Day Time Capsule

When Christmas Day won the Epsom Derby it also completed a series of coincidences stemming from a 1964 letter and coins discovered in a time capsule at Crystal Palace by a builder. The coins were winnings from a horse called Santa Claus who won the Derby that year. It urged the finder to put money on a horse with a Christmas related name in a future Derby. - Christmas Day in 2026 was the first festively named horse since 1964 and the  Romanian builder who uncovered the time capsule has a name that means Christmas.
I spoke to the Mayor of Bromley Christine Harris who told me more about this curious story.
