I spoke to 101 year old war Veteran Ronald Chapman who shared some of his stories and memories of his time serving in the Second World War
Born and raised in Woking, he went to school in Knaphill and first joined West Surrey's, Queens Regiment the day before his eighteenth birthday in 1943.
Ronald then went on to serve during World War II, across Italy, Egypt and Yugoslavia where he earnt numerous military service medals including the Italian Star, 1939-1945 Star and war medal.

I visited the Surrey History Centre in Woking to meet the team of volunteers behind a special display to mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.
The display is in the foyer of the history centre in Goldsworth Road until the end of May.

Ahead of the 80th Anniversary commemorations for VE Day I spoke to Chris Miller from the Air Raid Shelter Tea Room in High Wycombe. They have recorded a special song, Goodbye My Friend for VE Day and also a poignant farewell for the tea room which will be sadly closing in July.

Chris expresses himself and his feelings through poetry and hopes by telling his story he will help others. His dream is to go into schools and talk to students to try and prevent them from taking the wrong path like he did. Chris has a fundraiser to support this
