Evie Barton - Sunny Side Up

Artist Evie Barton , a student at Woking College recently won an art contest organised by Woking and Sam Beare Hospice.
The Inspiration for Life exhibition is available to see at the Light Box until 23rd Feb, and the original pieces  donated by the artists and  being sold with all proceeds to the hospice.

My First Football Match as an Adult!

Anybody who knows me will tell you I am not the world's biggest sporting fan. When it comes to football I recall going once with my dad as a kid but since then I haven't been to a match. 
I was given the chance to go to Woking FC's home match against Tamworth which was also the Woking and Sam Beare Hospice take over, with collections and awareness being raised of the clubs charity partner of the year.  Hear my experiences of going to the match for the first time as an adult.

Picture you Dead

Based on the book by Peter James, Picture you dead is a crime thriller dealing with the  sinister underworld of the antiques market with plenty of mystery and suspense along the way.
Picture you dead comes to Woking's New Victoria Theatre from 18th to 22nd Feb.
I spoke to Corrie star Peter Ash and Emmerdale's Fiona Wade who are in the cast for the Picture you Dead UK  tour.

Simon Jones from Woking Football Club and Kerry Gibb from Woking and Sam Beare Hospice told me about the hospice take over at Woking's home game against Tamworth on 18th Feb. We also hear about the connection between the football club and the hospice, who have been selected as the clubs charity of the year this year.

Mascot - Caring for our hearts

The Maybury and Sheerwater Community Trust (Mascot) hosted a  healthy heart session in Maybury. I spoke to  Consultant Cardiologist Dr   Sudhir Rathore who was telling the group about the risk factors when it comes to heart disease and heart attacks.
I also spoke to Michael Archer from Mascot who told me about funding that has been secured to enable a programme of health and well being activities for the community.
