I spoke to Wendy Jones from Numeracy UK. This is a charity that wants to deal with the issue of poor maths skills, which can lead to all sorts of problems in post school life.

The Military Wives Choir topped the charts at Christmas with their single Where ever you are. The choir is made up of spouses of the UK military, and the song was inspired by letters wriiten to and from the wives and their partners who were on a six month tour of Afghanistan earlier in 2011.
 
Hayley Flood from Devon (Centre of picture) is one of the 100 strong choir and she told me how being in the choir has transformed her life.

Manchester Quiz Master Scott Bray is fighting back  on the increasing use of smart phones to cheat in the Pub Quiz. Scott, who has been running quizes for five years, has  now  developed the Google Proof quiz that runs alongside his traditional  quiz.

The  Bell is a Youngs pub situated in the pretty village of Fetcham. Landlord Mark and Assistant Manager Matt popped in to my Brunch time Breakfast show to talk about the pub, which Mark and wife penny have been running for two years now. The Bell is one of only a handful of pubs in Surrey to make it into the Good Food Guide and they do an amazing quiz on a Tuesday night (I’m the quiz master)

Are you a shower singer? Is your song of choice water effiecent? I spoke to Simon Evans from Thames Water. They encorage us to.sing in the shower as long as the tunes are under four mins. Thats the maximun suggested shower time. If you sing. Beatles songs in the shower your water efficient. meatloafs bat out of hell meanwhile isnt!

Paul Scholes is a legend in the football world. In a frank autobiography the former england and Manchester United player opens his heart about his son Aiden who has been diagnosed with Autism. This isnt somethng that affects over half a million people in the UK . Its a complex condition to which there is no cure. I spoke to Natasha from the National Autistic Society to find out more about the condition.
